Dog Behavior Consulting and Practical In-Home Training
Real Life Solutions for Busy People and their Behavior-Challenged Dogs

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to dog training.  Every dog is unique, and every family has a different lifestyle, with different needs, abilities, and expectations when it comes to their four-legged companions.  I'm here to listen to what you want and focus on the behavior issues - big or small - that are getting in the way of having a happy, stress-free relationship with your dog.  In addition to the training, I’ll work with you to better understand your dog, to see your actions through his eyes and help you find the reasons behind unwanted behavior.

From teaching basic commands to addressing unusual quirks, the goal of Patient Pup Training is to provide a customized plan of sensible, easy-to-implement solutions with an emphasis on positive training methods.

Why Positive Training Methods?
Training shouldn’t just be a means to an end. You should feel comfortable with the methods used to get the behavior you want and the process should be part of the time you enjoy with your dog. Using rewards (praise, playtime, toys, and, yes, treats) instead of punishment makes training fun for you and your dog. Plus, you’ll strengthen your bond with your dog. When training starts to feel like a game instead of work, you’re more likely to stick with the program and get the results you want. Positive training is owner-friendly training.
